Thank you to all the members that were able to assist at this event. There were 75 competitors taking part over some quite rough terrain. No incidents required the attention of St John Ambulance and much of the afternoon was spent on chasing up the non runners and those that had taken different routes than booked in for! We established a net on 144.650 (due to a lift 145.200 was in use by a group in the Midlands!) and covered the bulk of the course well with 5W into the antenna. To assist with local control a talkthrough unit was deployed in the control area.

It looks as though West Norfolk escaped the bulk of the severe winter weather conditions experienced in other parts of the UK over the past couple of days. As ever members remained at a good state of alert. For the latest weather conditions please look at the Met Office website.

Thankfully the predicted surge did not impact the area of West Norfolk covered by the group. East of England zone contact and the groups deputy controller were appraised of the situation on Thursday 8th by the emergency planning officer. No callout action for Raynet was required locally. |
